Viertal Britse motors uit Knysna op skou

Die 22ste George Oumotorskou, trots ondersteun deur Oakhurst Versekeringsmaatskappy, vind op 10 – 11 Februarie 2018 plaas.

‘n Uitstalling van sowat 40 Brits-vervaardigde voertuie gaan in die hoofarena uitgestal word, en vier van Karl Reitz van Knysna se Britse motors sal deel vorm van die uitstalling. Dit sluit ‘n 1947 MG TC, ‘n 1958 MG A, ‘n 1928 3-liter Bentley, en ‘n 1916 Maxwell in.

“My belangstelling in veteraan- en noagmotors is geprikkel toe ek nog ‘n jong seun was,” vertel Karl, wat saam met sy vrou Tilly en hul kinders in Knysna woon. “My ouers was van die pioniers van die veteraanmotor-beweging en was stigterslede van die Crank Handle Club in Kaapstad.”

Bagful of British Beauties

The 22nd George Old Car Show, proudly driven by Oakhurst Insurance Company, takes place on 10 – 11 February 2018.

In the special exhibition area there will be some 40 vehicles of British manufacture, and among them will be four of Karl Reitz’s collector’s items, namely a 1947 MG TC, a 1958 MG A, a 1928 3-liter Bentley, and a 1916 Maxwell.

“My interest in veteran and vintage cars started when I was a young boy,” said Karl, who lives in Knysna with wife Tilly and their children. “My parents were pioneers of the veteran movement and founder members of the Crank Handle Club in Cape Town.”
